2011 Pro Weekend at Worldgate
Pro Weekend at Worldgate: What an exciting weekend of squash!
The National Capital area was fortunate to have had Amr Shabana (World #5) and Shahier Razik (World #25) to come to Worldgate on February 18th and 19th for two days of clinics and a best-of-five exhibition match. The weekend started with an energetic adult clinic followed by a wonderful time of fellowship, hero worship and laughter. Saturday brought juniors who not only got to learn from the best players in the game, but also made new friends! The weekend was capped off with a five game match in which Shahier Razik prevailed 3-2 in a packed house at Worldgate!
Northern Virginia Open Tournament
We had a great turn-out for the Northern Virginia Open Tournament and a lot of fun. Congratulations to our winners, finalists, and all those who played hard and fair!
Northern Virginia Season Opener
The Northern Virginia Season Opener was a great success. One of the largest tournaments held in the DC area for several years, the event welcomed juniors and open draws, a Rules and Referee Clinic, Explosive Performance sampler and an exciting exhibition match between Jay Naseem and Lakgotla Mesope! Perhaps the greatest accomplishment of the weekend were the number of first time tournament players!
Fall 2011 Tournaments
The National Capital Season Opener was a huge success drawing more than 65 players across a wide array of draws to Potomac for a great weekend of squash.
The Northern Virginia Bronze hosted at Potomac Squash Club is a Junior’s Tournament geared for junior players beginning their competitive squash playing career. The event will be great fun with an emphasis on good sportsmanship and enjoyment. Boys and Girls draws U11-U19
